Back from 3 cold and not-so-windy days at the beach. I've been off testing the 2011 Rally (12m) 2011 Fuel (9m) and 2010 RPM (10m) courtesy of S2AS. I've not really had a chance to test them in powered conditions, but had plenty of opportunity to fly on the beach and try out their bottom ends. Its been a really good opportunity to try out three quite different kites back to back, from the grunt and precision of the Fuel, the excellent wake-style RPM and the, all round freestyle/wave performer of the Rally. Full reviews to come in the next few days. http://www.forcesix.com/2011-slingshot-rally-review.html http://www.forcesix.com/2011-slingshot-fuel-review.html http://www.forcesix.com/2010-slingshot-rpm-review.html This morning a crew of us rolled down to the town moor, and were greeted with a constant 12mph or so of wind. After cutting a load of tracks we decided to take a break and build a small kicker, with a video camera upwind to film it. Here are a few shots taken from the footage. Snowkite - Town Moor from Pete Jones on Vimeo. Wind was really marginal today, so thought I'd just take my gear along to check out the snow on the town moor - as the forecast for tomorrow is decent.
The wind was variable, and averaging about 8mph I'd guess, but it was enough to have a pretty decent session - Hopefully it'll be epic tomorrow, as the conditions on the town moor are perfect. Got back from another sick week of kitng with KiteJunkies in Sharm - 7 days of wind in 30 degree temperatures. Definately my favourite location abroad and the kitejunkies staff are really helpful and cater for all your kitesurfing needs.
